Local Tourism, City Guide Network

Current Live Version: http://bg5.thefootnotes.net

The Concept: Peace Corps Volunteers have unprecedented access to small villages and towns that most foreigners have never visited. These cities all offer something unique and interesting but obviously aren't on the more popular paths throughout Bulgaria. This website aims to give a public place to list hotels, restaurants, local attractions, local festivals, tour guides, local crafts, and local cuisine.

Project Time Spent: 2 Months,

System Software: Drupal, multiple module additions
Can It Go Live? For all intensive purposes, it is live now. It only needs content.

What Went Wrong: Lack of interest and development delays. Also, the concept competes with other social networking travel websites. There isn't a clear niche that the website exploits. Needs vision and focus.

Scalability: Scalable to every city in Bulgaria now. To add another country, about 1-2 hours of setup (listing the city names). Slight organization issues to display countries in a intuitive format.

Interested Parties: Potentially for a small business startup, but probably most effectively used as a volunteer website. The website is now relatively simple and upkeep would be a simple process of monitoring posts and encouraging many different members to contribute.
Should I help directly with the installation, I reserve the right to place Google ads in the website somewhere. But that is determine on a case by case basis.
