Ternipe-Simitli Website

Current Live Version: http://ternipe-simitli.org

The Concept: Ternipe-Simitli is a local Roma NGO that wants a web presence for its activities. This includes a simple blog format for news, a displayed format for youth magazine issues, about and information page and photo gallery.

Project Time Spent: 1 Month, 12 month upkeep

System Software: Jooma, Coppermine

Can It Go Live? It is live and functioning now. It just has a need for updates.

What Went Wrong: Only a limited few amount of people understood the software and had interest in learning the software. While a great public relations tool, the majority of the community isn't aware of its existence. Perhaps dovetailing the website to more visited sites such as www.vbox7.com (Bulgarian YouTube) will be more successful.

Scalability: Joomla is bulky. It can be scaled up but its still a little awkward and probably doesn't warrant the inputed worked need to upgrade.

Interested Parties: For any NGO or small business that is looking for something a little more complex than a blog and also would like something very user friendly, this setup is ideal: Joomla (www.joomla.com) and Coppermine (coppermine-gallery.net/ , it has Bulgarian support built in). I would be wiling to help someone install their own website. Should I help directly with the installation, I reserve the right to place Google ads in the website somewhere. But that is determine on a case by case basis.
