Peace Corps Volunteer Network

The Peace Corps Volunteer Network

Current Live Version: http://pcv.thefootnotes.net

The Concept: Volunteers in the Peace Corps are able to utilize their own connections to improve their own local work experiences by sharing successful projects, creating groups of like minded people to discuss and organize activities, listing of project funding possibilities, and increase volunteer networking by listing and showing surrounding Volunteers.

Project Time Spent: 2-3 Months

Can It Go Live? Probably after 1 week of editing, the website could go live and serve as a successful networking tool.

What Went Wrong: Decline of interest. Development took longer than expected. It is impossible to create a Networking Website without a network.

Scalability: Any location in the world is already integrated into the system; The software, Drupal, is consistently stable for small to mid-sized sites and is gaining ground in the high traffic sites by corporations. It can easily be taken from a local network to a global network.

Interested Parties: The concept and design developments are free for anyone to use. Contact me to receive help in implementing something conceptually similar. I am more than wiling to encourage and help other excited developers but if I work on the website, I may want to place Google Ads in the finished website. It allows a reimbursement of my time spent learning and developing these concepts. Again, its negotiable and depends whether it is a for-profit enterprise.
